What is the Skills for Success framework?

In response to the evolving labor market and changing skill needs, the Government of Canada has launched the new Skills for Success model, defining nine key skills needed to participate and thrive in learning, work, and life. Skills For Success include skills that are foundational for building other skills and knowledge and are important for effective social interaction. These skills overlap and interact with each other and with other technical and life skills. They are inclusive and can be adapted to different contexts.

What are the benefits of workplace training for employers?

How do I know if my team members have a skills gap?

Do your workers struggle with technology or process changes, teamwork causing delays, poor communication, lack of creativity, low digital skills, difficulty with numbers, problem-solving issues, misunderstanding written information, or poor writing skills? If yes, consider an Organizational Needs Assessment (ONA) to identify skills gaps.

What is involved in an Organizational Needs Assessment ?

Conducting an Organizational Needs Assessment (ONA) involves a flexible, non-linear process tailored to each employer's unique needs and approach. It may include several meetings, tours, interviews, and correspondence. The process can vary significantly in scope and duration depending on the size of the organization and the specific skills gaps identified.

The types of programming that can be tailored to suit your workplace include, digital skills, communication skills, math skills, and soft skills (problem-solving, conflict resolution, time management,etc).

What are Relational Skills?

Relational skills support successful relationships in the workplace by expanding on four key aspects of the Skills for Success Framework: Collaboration, Adaptability, Problem Solving and Communication. Our training focuses on Social Intelligence, Change & Continuous Learning, Civility & Citizenship, and Cultural Competence to help employees thrive within today's workforce.
